Day 6: Toya-ko Onsen to Hakodate - 100.2 miles

Empty 1 kilometer long road tunnel, 8am Sunday. I went through 10 tunnels today, this one wasn't the longest.

Not many photos today. Had a mad 100 mile dash to get to the port town of Hakodate before sundown. I get a ferry across to Honshu, Japan's main island from here tomorrow. The day started with lots of climbing up through the hills then back down to sea level following Route 5: the coast road, so I spent most of the day staring out over the Pacific Ocean.

Up again

View South from the West coast of Hokkaido. The Autumn colours are very beautiful.
